Is it safe to wear contacts when i sleep?!

Question: There are a few brands that have been approved for sleeping in, but you will be hard pressed to find many Dr's who agree with it.

Unless you are an emergency worker who may called in the middle of the night and have to respond fast , there is no real reason not to take them out and let them disinfect overnight.

No matter what the brand is, bacteria is still trapped behind the lens. The risk of eye infections is many times greater for those who sleep with them.

Do yourself a favor, and don't take risks. It just takes a few seconds to remove them and be safe.

Many Dr's in here have repeated the same thing many times.

I dono if its safe but i actually do it alot by accident and the only thing that happens to me is they get dryed out and kinda blury.

I really don't think contacts are intended to be left in while sleeping. Just to be on the safe side, take them out before getting some "shut eye". Better to be safe than sorry.

What my doctor said was, it depends on your age, if you young you should take them out at night and get and let your eyes rest.

YES!!! With my new O2 Optix, my eye doctor suggested that I could actually nap and even sleep in them

Because these contacts are made of a new silicone, these contacts actually breathe and allow oxygen to flow through them preventing drying and the potential build up of proteins and bacterial contamination.
