Lasik Surgery?!

Question: Just wondering what your thoughts are on Lasik?? I'm way freaked out by the idea of someone playing with my eye but the thought of no contacts would be great!

I had Lasik last June. Seeing 20/15 in each and 20/10 in
both eyes together. I was also freaked out at the idea of eye
surgery. I almost backed out at the last minute. The
beginning of the surgery was unnerving when he cut my
corneas off. He pressed my eye so hard, everything went
dark. The whole surgery lasted about 15 minutes. I had a
bad case of dry eye going in which caused complications the
next day. I was out of work for 4 days ( I drive a lot). After
a few days I could see 20/25. Most recoveries are faster than
mine though. Web MD website has a informative report but
it focuses more on what can go wrong. Your acuity can
decrease again over time at about the same rate that it
would have without the surgery. Don't expect too much. Its a
one time correction. Having liposuction doesn't mean you
can't get fat again and having lasik doesn't mean you won't
need correction again. If they offer a price plan that includes
enhancements, it might be a good idea to take that option.

,,,I've been thinking about having latex for a while now...these days you can even go into hoc for it...but I only have one good eye...he might not do the surgery then........

I just had lasik surgery in October. I was scared to but I went to an excellent doctor one of the best in Manhattan he actually help develop the laser they use. After the surgery for about a week it is pretty dry and uncomfortable and you have to be diligent about the doctors orders, but I just went in for a check up and I am 20+ in my right eye 20/15 in the left eye I am better than 20/20 in both eyes. I am amazed at the results because my prescription before lasik was -5.5 in each eye. I was completely handicapped without my contacts. Definitely get it done go to Doctor Mandel and you will be fine.

Lasik Eye surgery does sound scary but it is very beneficial since you can wake up the next morning and not have to put on your glasses or contacts, it would be so much more convinient. You would probably look better too! I've been told you don't feel anything while they do it even though you can see throughout the process.
I've also heard that you can get bad eyesight again afterwards but not for a few years at least.
