Losing my vision?!?!

Question: I have a bad habit of going back and forth from the computer to the tv...
recently I've noticed my eyes are hurting and my vision's becoming foggy. My lifestyle doesnt require me to do anything. I try to get out and walk for 45 minutes a day but thats like it! I hate it and really want to get out.. My life is basically living off of electricity to keep me entertained!

What can I do to get out more so I dont have to rely on yahoo answers to entertain me?!?!?! My neighborhood is completely boring and I don't have nothing but two legs and a bike to get me places....and I'm too embarrassed to ride down the street while everyone is in they're fancy cars staring at me!...
plus I have no where to go :(

also...
will watching too much tv, etc, make your vision worse?
I stay a decent distance away from the screen...?

help!

I would totally agree with Reality Man's advice:

"Get involved with a church, or a senior centre. Volunteer at a hospital or charity. You'll be glad that you did, and you'll make some new quality friends.

And, in my humble opinion, watching too much TV makes your LIFE worse. Live your life, don't watch scripted lives on TV all day."

The best way forward for you is to listen to this advice and help yourself. Also you could join some social club, gym etc., where you can meet and make new like minded friends.

Don't worry about other people in their fancy cars, your mode of transport is by far the best for a healthy you. As for your neighbourhood being boring, each time you go out, make it interesting by using your imagination to transform the scenarios.

Unless, you have the will to change your lifestyle and take positive actions to do so, no amount of advice, verbally or physically well meaning, is going to help you. You are ultimately your own best resource.

Best wishes and good luck!

eyes become muscularly weak when light is constant, instant on, instant off, there is no need for the eyes to adjust to different lighting levels that much... in the U.S. where everyone tends to be in electronically controlled lighting conditions most of the time vision is measured on a 20/20 basis, other countries use 15/15

cover your eyes for a moment and think of nothing but black things in the world that you have seen--5 minutes, later wear sunglasses outside to not burn out your retinas, including in snow

yes watching tv can make your eyesight worse. if you want to get out (and don't want to spend to much money) go down to your local swimming pool or beach. or maybe go to the markets or shops. take up a hobby, like yoga or dance lessons, or join a sports club. Get your eyes tested because you mey need glasses or something. Do some D.I.Y around the house, it's something to do! just try anything!

watching television especially in the dark can temporarily play with your vision but you will not lose you vision from watching to much television. if you are losing your vision it will be from a different cause.

if the problem gets any worse you should consult your local gp or optometrist

Get to an eye doctor, and don't fool around. Are you getting tunnel vision? That could be glaucoma and you can lose ALL of your vision.
Foggy vision could be cataracts, which is distortion and fogging of your eye's lens. Cataracts can be fixed, but I'm not so sure about glaucoma, so get a handle on it before it gets too bad (as in: NOW!)
Don't fool around with this stuff, love. Life's hard enough without being blind on top of it all! I'm no doctor, but I know that you should take your eye health very seriously.

How old are you anyway? Get out and meet some people and do things. Get involved with a church, or a senior center. Volunteer at a hospital or charity. You'll be glad that you did, and you'll make some new quality friends.

And, in my humble opinion, watching too much TV makes your LIFE worse. Live your life, don't watch scripted lives on TV all day. (Especially daytime TV...ouch!) Sorry to be preachy, but when I hear about people vegging out in front of a TV...ack! It saddens me. You have things to offer the world. Go out and do good things in the world and watch your life start to blossom again.

Best,
RM
