Stange "floater" in eye that lasting too long????!
Question: excuse any spelling porblems, hard to see, and I have a pesty cat on my lap. OK, u know how when you look at a bright light and it you startseeing little floaters? Well, I have one , but I didn't look at a bright light and it has lasted (and is still here) about 5 or so minutes in my left eye and it's getting thicker. It was like a wire shape or something, but it's getting bigger!! Could this be a syptom of vitamen deficiency? I haven't been eating well lately, due to stress and alone stuff, and I haven't had veggies or anything for awile. Ive leived on chocolate for awhile. Suggestions as to what to do to get rid of it? it's weirding me out!!

You really need 2 eat real food!!!!!!!! That could b Ur problem!!!!!!! Also, If u have a disease like diabetes u could b about 2 faint!!!!!!! Call an eye doctor and have a friend take u.
It could be the sign of a retinal detachment, head to the ER immediately--do not wait until tomorrow!
Floaters are usually parts of the vitreous gel in the middle of the eye. They've been there since before you were born, and one gets a little more till about the age of 8 or so.
Since it lives there, it won't move out, thinks somehow it belongs, silly thing. If it casts a shadow on your retina you'll see it. If not, you won't.
If you have a central spot that's growing like a wire, and moving to the side, slowly, possibly flickering at the edges,.. this sounds like an ophthalmic migraine or optic migraine. The curved flickering line or arc, will move to the side till it's gone... usually takes about 20 minutes or so. Some people get headaches afterwards, most don't. If you do, then this will be an 'aura' or sort of pre-headache warning.. you can get medication to take at the time of an aura that may help prevent or lessen the intensity of the later migraine headache itself.
If it's a floater, just enjoy the thing... it's not going anywhere. It could move to the side and not be visible for years, then one day there it is again!
None of these types of symptoms are precursors to retinal detachments.
