Spots b4 my eyes?!
Question: what does it mean if you see spots before your eyes??! i dont see them all the time, only 2 different occassions. once about 6 months ago i was sitting on the couch and started seeing lots of purple looking spots, the next time was about4 days ago when i was on the treadmill i started seeing 2 big purple looking spots, they were there no matter which way i looked, even if i closed my eyes i could still see them. in both cases it lasted a good 5 min or so. i am on no medications, 31 yrs old, male, 6'1" , 224lbs, what does this mean??

You imply that the spots are there for at least a little while. An ocular migraine can cause similar complaints. An ocular migraine is not serious, and may not lead to full migraines.
Flashes of light are potentially very serious -- they can be a sign of retinal detachment.
You should get an exam to be sure that it's not the latter.
I think your due for a eye exam! Thats what it means...you should try it.
