How Long can I wear my contacts in one day?!
Question: Hey i just got contacts today. The eye doctor said that usually people wear them for about 10-12 hours a day then wear their glasses. Well I'm young and in high school and i like to go out at night. So lets say I put my contacts in at 8am I might not take my contacts off till Who knows. Maybe even 2 oclock. Is that really bad.
Also if i go home can i just take my contacts off and then go to bed or do i have to wear my glasses. Is it better to wear ur glasses after you take out ur contacts, My doctor said so but i want to know whats your guys said.

ummm....nope its not bad at all ...cause i do the same thing too.......
just remember if ur eyes burn then use ur visine or solution and that should help ur contacts to feel perfect.....cause nobody likes dry contacts
OH YEAH!! definitely......I always wear my glasses after i take my contacts off.......especially after school cause i find it more comfortable to wear my glasses ^_^
I even sleep in mines and when they get dry i always use my solution or visine!

No more than 10-12 hours is correct. I would say never sleep with them on though if you plan on using them for longer. No you dont have to wear your glasses when you take your contacts off at home. Unless, you need them for seeing things close up. If they are for distance it is not necessary.
AND NEVER USE VISINE WITH CONTACTS! This will harm your conacts. Use any kind of rewetting drops if your eyes get a little dry.
You misunderstood the directions about wearing your glasses.
He simply meant, take off your contacts and wear your glasses...(if you still want to see clear)
8 AM to 1 or 2 AM every day is definately overwearing them.
You may get away with it for a year or two, but eventually you will pay for it with severe problems, maybe even a corneal ulcer.
Be responsable with them and you should get many good years of contact wearing, but if you continue like you said, you won't be a happy camper for long.
It would be a very good idea to leave them out all day Sundays, and wear your glasses if you have to wear the contacts many hours on the other days.
