Protein in Contact Lenses?!

Question: What is the protein in the contact lense? Why do eyes create protein?

Answers: What is the protein in the contact lense? Why do eyes create protein?

its a natural product of our bodies, the tear ducts secrete it to flush our eyes as we blink and to keep our eyeballs from drying out, unfortunately it coats the lenses we place over our corneas, i found natural tear solutions or plain saline helped to keep them less cloudy, and daily cleaning is obviously a necessity. never sleep with lenses in, i did once, and woke seeing through a haze, scared the hell outta me. the new continuous wear ones are more permeable to hopefully avoid this happening, i havent used so cannot say.

it is just a natural build up that the contact has trouble disposing of. It might be time to change to a new pair. remember the length of wear for a contact is RECOMMENDED USE and you like me may need to switch it more frequently.

Until we have LASIC!

Your fellow contact wearer :-)
