Bad eyesite...what is considered legally blind?!

Question: I am -8 and I always just thought it was until you can't see the big E on the chart. But it has been some time since I could see that. My dad is -13 and is still not considering legally blind, so you probably have to be like -20. I'm not sure on the exact label.

What counts is not the prescription but the numbers next to the lines you read.20/200 means you need to be at 20' to see what you should at 200'.

Legally blind is worse than 20/200 in your better eye with glasses on. Report It

  • legally blind is when one cannot differentiate light and dark.

Blind is when you walk and hit urself. When you use that helping stick. If you don't then you aren't blind.

    You are not legally blind.

By definition, legally blind is when your best eye can only be corrected to 20/200 or worse.
Or your field of vision is 20 degrees or worse.

It doesnt matter how strong your Rx is, as long as you are not 20/200 or worse with your contacts/glasses on.
