Eyes become read in movie theatre?!

Question: Whenever i go to a movie theatre, my eyes become red. (i wear contact lenses). Once i come out of the theatre, they will become ok after some time.

I have not experienced this on any other occasion. Could it be contact lenses, or something else. Or is it that my lens power has changed and eyes are stressed out in a theatre?

Do you have any other symptoms? Specifically, eye pain or tenderness, blurry vision or halos around lights? Those are symptoms of narrow angle glaucoma, which is rare, but very serious.

My best guess would be your eyes are simply dry and irritated. Whenever we focus intently on something, such as watching tv (movie screen), reading or driving, we blink less. Combine that with the recycled air in the theater, and you have the perfect set up for dry eyes. Use artificial tears!

If you have any of the other symptoms I listed above, you need to see an ophthalmologist and have your angles (drains inside your eyes, only visible with a special instrument) checked.
