Can I use gentamicin sulfate for pink eye if I am allergic to sulfa drugs?!

Question: Thanks!

Answers: Thanks!

yes! Gentamicin is from a completely different family of antibiotics than sulfa drugs are, so an allergy to sulfa drugs should not cause any problem with that.

pinkeye is caused by an adenovirus. it won't respond to an antibiotic. A secondary infection would. But gentamycin burns, and there are others that are 'better'.

nope , pink eye will not respond to that , use ciloxan , but how do you know it's pink eye not allergy .
