Will using the computer too long worsen my eyesight?!
Question: My eyesight has gotten worse since I started using the computer for longer hours. My optometrist gave a rather vague, uncommitted answer when I asked him about it, so I was wondering if there are people with similar experiences.

There is quite a bit of evidence that demonstrates CLOSE-UP work, so that could be comptuer, reading, knitting I suppose, for prolonged periods of time can increase nearsightedness...
I strongly suggest you click on the link I give you, it was written by the American optometric association and it explains most of the KNOWN reasons for why people become myopic/nearsighted
just make sure you take breaks and look into the distance, as often as possible
GOOD LUCK!
Staring at a computer screen for hours on end will probably eventually end up doing a bit of damage. They recommend you take a break every hour or so from looking at the screen as it causes your eyes strain.
Yes I was going to say what Anthony has already said. I used to have perfect eyes, and as I got older I was on the computer way more and now I have glasses.
oh yeah. im only fourteen years old and my vision has worsened since i got my computer in my room. i use to have 20/20 and now i'm having to get glasses.
i'm not sure I would assume so though.
yes, the radiation can affect your eyes so take a break every once in a while and don't be like an inch away from the screen make sure your at a good length.
