How long do you have to look at the sun before it damages your eyes?!

Question: just wonering, when i was a kid i stared at the sun for some reason for a long time and made it get the blue/black look in front of it

Well, you prob. did some temp damage. I know from being around welding that eyes "burn" just like a sunburn. And really really hurt when it happens. But it does heal. Although I have heard some say it may lead to cataracts later. Don't take that as a fact though because I have no back-up other than say-so.

When I was little i looked at the sun and made myself cry.....stupidity or curiostiy? my family doesn't have any eye issues but abut 3 years later my vision started to deteriorate. Sun gives you damage what can i say.
