How often should you wear your contacts?!
Question: I have dailies aka "disposables". ( The ones you throw out after the end of each day )
I wake up at 7:00 every morning, put my contacts in, and go to bed at 11:00 and take them out. Thats about 17 hours with them in ( if i did my math correctly )
Is this healthy for my eyes? I dont have the correct perscription for my glasses because glasses are expensive and I can't really afford them right now. If I AM wearing my contacts too much, where can I find an inexpensive pair of glasses?

Really depends a lot on what material your lenses are made of and how your eyes react.
Newer technology materials like silicone hydrogel are FDA approved for up to 30 days and nights of continuous wear, and allow much more oxygen to the cornea. Wearing them for 16+ hours is no problem for most people.
Other materials that block more oxygen from getting to the eye might be more dicey in terms of optimum health and oxygen transmission to the eye (cornea).
Be sure to examine your eyes both in the morning and in the evening, before the contacts are in, and after they are out. Look for redness, or new blood vessels appearing, or any discoloration. These can be clues that something is wrong. Let your eyes be the best indicator and do talk to your doctor about this as well--you are, after all, paying them for their knowledge!
well i have the kind taht last a month
but my doctor said certain people can wear them longer
so i guess if it dosnt bother u to wear them taht long then it wont he\urt

Probably would be good to give your eyes a break, but if the contacts are comfortable until you take them out then it should be no big deal. Might be nice to have glasses though that you can wear on the weekend or at night, to give your eyes a rest from the contacts. Most places will have a selection of frames from inexpensive to very expensive. Go in and inquire about an inexpensive pair of glasses and explain your situation.
