Have you had Lasik Eye Surgery? What kind of side effects did you have?!

Question: My husband is thinking of doing this procedure, but he's also heard of some weird side effects such as shadow figures at night and glared vision at night. How do you feel about this surgery? I just saw a commercial about SafeLasik.com and was curious about it. It doesn't look like there's much involved in correcting eye sight. Meaning, it looks like a pretty simple procedure and pain free.
Anyone out there who can give me some feedback? Thanks so much!
Have a great weekend!

My stepson had it done two years ago, Thank goodness no side effects at all. He was wearing coke bottle Glasses, before the surgery, And he still has 20-20 vision after 2 years. I was totally amazed,at the results. But ,Still get the doctors opinion , for real medical advice. My sister works at the eye Clinic, and she too, has been amazed.at what she has seen, But, just telling you what I know.. others may have not gone as well, as our son. Now, that he can actually see for himself that he really is the handsome guy he always thought he was.LOL

I've had lasik before, it wasn't pain free and I had to take medication that drugged me up for the procedure (perhaps that is why it is supposed to be pain free), eyes take half a year and longer to heal and fully recover, they can be bothered by bright light and the like til fully healed, also vision slowly improves while healing, some of the surgeons have awful bedside manners and make you feel horrible if you aren't happy with the results (rather than wanting to fix the problems)... all in all, its cheaper than spending money on contacts and cleaning fluids, in my case my eyes were rejecting contacts after wearing them for years

At first there will be a little problem with glare. The procedure is pretty standard these days and you should ask the provider for the info packet. This will list all side effects(there aren't many) and problems with the procedure (there aren't many here either). You should be seeing perfectly within a month. You will see pretty good right away. Dryness will be the major problem but they give you drops for this. We did it in Montreal. They have the best doctors and state of the art equipment. You know, of course, they can only fix eyes that are near sighted and you may need reading glasses soon after the procedure. If you are a candidate, it is well worth the effort.

I had Lasik Eye Surgery over 5 years ago,and it was the best thing I ever did. My prescription was -8 shortsighted in both eyes. I do not notice any shadowy figures or glares at night. It has definately changed my life and I recommend it to everyone. Go for it, you won't regret it !!!

Yes, halos and dryness.
