At age 45. I thought glasses would be no problem, but they drove me a little nuts, so I went into contacts which I took to like a duck to water--I love 'em...
And in the six months of wearing vision correction glasses and contacts, my eyes have gotten very dependent on them and my vision worse...! Anyone who says that vision correction lenses don't make your vision any worse is nuts--even my OD agrees for most people this is true! But really it's a moot point because you start wearing vision correction for better vision, and it's SO much better and nicer, so be it that your natural vision just gives up and relies on the artificial lenses and gets worse...
i started wearing glasses in the 2nd grade, but finally got contacts in junior high. it's mostly genetics that decide how bad your eyes will get.
Started wearing glasses when I was nine years old. I think it's a combination of heredity and eyestrain. There are plenty of glasses-wearers in my family, and I always did love to read and watch TV.

I was born short-sighted, and grew up going rapidly more short-sighted.
I have a broadly similar Rx to my father, paternal grandfather, brother and uncle.
In my case at least, it's down to genetics.
Age 11
I began getting bad eyes towards the end of 3rd and got glasses in 4th. Now i am getting contacts (Jr. High)
To determine if your eyes are getting worse is genetics, and also growing. as you grow, some peoples eyes start getting worse. if you need more information of any kind, email me!
