Should i have laser eye surgery?!


Question: im really sick of contacts and glasses annoy me.but im so scared of watching things go in my eye!is it painful?has it gone wrong for anyone on ask?do you regret or recommend?

I had RK in 1995, and it was a miracle for me. Now, they mostly do Lasik, and I wish I had had that option. Still, it was painless, and you don't see something "coming at your eye". My eyes were numb from drops, and then they put a thing over my eye that made it where I could not blink so it wasn't a problem.. I say GO FOR IT, but make absolutely certain that you have the most qualified doctor you can find doing it. Don't go to one of these "eye surgery mills". Your eyes are too important to find a bargain doctor.

    • it is a surgery afterall so the risks will definitely be there. complications might include infections, but you can sue the surgeon for it.
    it doens't hurt, just that you'll feel some ticklish feeling rubbing on your cornea. you will see the whole process but it only takes 10-15 minutes per eye.

    personally i feel, unless your prescription is very high (e.g. 6.00D), you should not go for it
    It is so easy and completely painless and I'm a wimp.
    However, you have to be an adult to have it done where your eyes have stopped growing and rapidly changing.
    It only corrects near sightedness (problems seeing distance). Wont' help for reading.
    i totally recommend it. It's really safe. I personally haven't had it done (I'm 14) but ,my aunts and uncles and grandparents have had it. They thought it was painless. Doesn't hurt whatsoever! Good luck!
