It could be caused by many things. Inflammation would make the eye feel like it is swollen and would cause your vision to be blurred. It could be thyroid related. It could be a whole number of other things, some need treatment or further investigation.
Go straight to your optician and have an eye examination ASAP. I say ASAP because you can't take any chances when it comes to your eyes, some things will get better without treatment but some things are permanent and can be really bad if you do not get treatment. Go tomorrow and get seen, only an eye examination will tell you what is wrong.
An ophthalmologist can measure your eyes and tell you if one is "more forward." And it sounds like you see floaters, which are not uncommon. To be sure you should see an eye professional for a dilated exam. If at any time you see flashes of light or a veil being pulled over part of your vision you should report immediately to an ophthalmologist.
I'd make an appt w/ your eye doctor. Could be thyroid or something else. Seeing shadows is also a sign of something else going on. Maybe you suffer from a certain type of migrane that you don't feel pain but get the physical stuff like blotting. I would make an appt ASAP.
