Information about contact lenses please?!

Question: I've been researching it a bit and think I should get them. My headaches would be gone, I wouldn't have to worry with glasses and I just think it'd be easier. However, the whole getting them in and out of my eye freaks me out (like you're practically touching your eye *squirm*). What advice do you have for me? Thanks!

Contacts are big responsibility but the best advice i can give you is to listen to what your doctor tells you how to care for them. If you decide to get them..heres some advice I can give you. Wash your hands before you take them out and before you put them in. Always use fresh solution, and change your lenses when your suppose to. Contact lenses are medical devices and if misused you could get eye infections. Always have your glasses as back up!

I felt the same way about touching my eye. I could barely let my friend put eyeliner on me as my eye would freak out. It is hard to put them in at first, but they are worth it and it will get easier. I use to be so mad at myself because I couldnt take thme out..but I can put them in and take them out in seconds.

WE ALL felt like that before contacts.
The first couple times you put them it, it is a little difficult but THEY ARE WORTH IT......you'll get through it.

On the news this morning i heard you could get permenant contact lenses for your eyes. Why not talk to your eye doctor?

I have had contacts for about 2 years, and I think that they're great.
You don't really need to squish it in there.
You just put it in nice and soft, and it should go in fine.

Just becareful that your hands are clean when you put them in, or they'll be come infected.

Overall, you should be fine with contacts.

They also let you do a lot more stuff.
I can actually run now without my glasses falling off.
sweet.

You will be touching your eye. Especially when one of the contacts gets lost up underneathe your eyelid and you have to fish it out

Contacts are the best and you'll used to putting them in and taking them out. The first time it took me 45 minutes to get both in but after 16 years of wearing them, I can pop them in and out in a matter of seconds

i have green contact lenses, and at first it felt uncomfortable getting them in and out, but now its easy as. It feels uncomfortable when you get a fibre or a bubble underneath the contact, so of course, you have to take the contact out and wash it. It feels better when i've just put it in and i close my eye and apply light pressure to it, which gets out any bubbles. I think you should get them, but remember to clean them properly with saline water and don't sleep with them in!

Practice touching just the white of your eye (with clean fingers of course). If you can work yourself up to doing that, you shouldn't have any problems getting the actual contact in. If you can't get over the "squirming," you're not likely to have much success. I had a LOT of trouble when I first got them, and had to have the doctor put them in for me at first. But after getting more adjusted to the idea, and realizing that you aren't ever touching the iris itself, it just became no big deal.

Have your eye doctor put numbing drops in your eyes before you practice taking them out and putting them in.

i am the same way. i have glasses since i was 8 and now im 20. It freaks me out so much. But, i got signed with a model agency and they are pushing me to get them, so im just gonna do it. Im so scared, my bf is coming with me when i do it. Good luck to you. I feel for ya!

Contacts r great u should definately get them! Yeah it is wierd at first, but u get used to it. Like now I can just touch my eye and I don't flinch or anything. Literally! Its okay, the eye doctor showed me how to take out & put in my contacts the correct way. Don't Worry!!!

Just listen to everything your doctor tells you and remember to always have clean hands when your about to touch your eyes and you should be fine
