My eyes burn really bad when i take out my contacts!!?!

Question: As soon as i take out my contacts, my eyes begin to burn really really bad, they feel gritty, My eye doctor told me to put eye drops in before i take them out and i did that and they still burn when i take them out. It doesn't go away until i fall asleep and wake up in the morning. It hurts even worse when i blink! Ive tried lubricating eye drops and saline and nothing seems to help!! What do i do?

ive had that problem before and i just make sure my hands are squeaky clean and slighty damp and then i take them out and let my eye drops run through them for a few seconds.
my first eye drops made my eyes like that so i got some new contact solution and now my eyes hurt much less! so try something different

your avatar is the same as mine!!! And Im sorry that must hurt BADLY!!!

Are your hands infected/dirty? :P

If you just got them they will probably take a while to adjust to them. Also clean them regularly because things could get on them and burn your eyes. Put your contacts in contact solution over night so they can be clean in the morning. Good Luck!

You might be allergic, but look for tears within your contacts. Also, it is possible that your contacts are too old, that you don't have the right fitting, or that you're putting your contacts in the wrong way.

Have you tried acuve? I've heard it works really well!

Wash your hands well before you take out your contacts, and try wearing them for a shorter amount of time. You're only supposed to have them in for 12 hours at a stretch, but I know I usually end up wearing mine a lot longer than that because I'm too busy to run home and take them out. Lastly, try changing the brand and type of solution you use to clean your contacts. If you keep having problems, you might want to consider switching back to glasses. I know it's a bit of a bummer, but after I wore my glasses in front of my boyfriend for the first time, he told me I looked hotter WITH them, so it might not be a total loss!
