Why is my left eye vision dimmer then my right eye?!

Question: At night after i take my contacts out (and yes they are prescripted) i realised while i was watching tv with a little lamp on in the corner that my left eye vision was dimmer then the right eye.I would close the right eye and the lamp would be seem alot dimmer then when i closed my left eye and looked at it with the right. Why is that?! Do i have a effection or something?!

Its called dominance. It just means you are using more more of one eye then the other. When that happens, the other eye stops focusing. You can try to balance them out, but covering the dominant eye for an hour a day so the other one gets stronger. Vision problems are do many times to imbalance. When both eyes are strong and working together, you see 20/15 without glasses. When one eye is off, the other eye over compensates and the eyes work harder and the brain works harder and the body works harder. Its a domino effect!

It is called lazy eye. The eye doctor can give you a patch to put on the stronger eye for about a week and it would be back to normal.
