How do you get styes in your eye?!

Question: I got one this morning and I was just wondering how they get there.

Answers: I got one this morning and I was just wondering how they get there.

A stye is a blocked OIL GLAND, not tear duct. Do you wear eye liner? Women who wear eye liner tend to be at slightly higher risk as the eye liner goes right across the area where most of the oil glands are, and if not fully removed daily it can cause blockages. This can also occur naturally as well. The best/only way to treat them is warm compresses for at least 5-10 min 2-3 x a day until the lump is fully gone. Then just to prevent any more breakouts of them use the warm compress before bed washing your face for 5 min. They are pesty painful little buggers though.~

Styes are infections, they can come from your hands, or from your eyelashes, its basically just bacteria, could be you scratched your eye or something to that effect.

A sty is caused by a blocked tear duct in your eye. It can be very painful, and it helps if you bathe it with warm compresses to open up the duct. It should clear up in a few days. If not, see your doctor, and he might prescribe something for you.
