Are you able to get colored contacts without having an eye problem ?!

Question: Well, I wanted blue contacts .
Not that I have a problem with my current eye color, it's just that I want to experience new things you know ?
.. I want a new look after spring break.
So, is it able to get colored contacts even though you have great vision? And would you have to get a doctor recommendation?

Thanks.

Yes, you can get colored contacts with and without vision correction. The ones for cosmetic purposes only are plano, or 0.00 contacts. I wear colored contacts only for color enhancement; I don't need any vision correction either. All of the brands that make colored contacts offer them with and without vision correction, and some even make colored contacts for people with astigmatism as well.

You do need to get a prescription for them though. Contacts are considered medical devices, regardless of the reason for you wanting/needing them...so you will need a scrip to be able to legally purchase them. The eye doctor will give you the routine eye exam, to verify whether you do or don't need vision correction. He/she will also measure your pupils. Not everyone has the same pupil size, so there isn't really a "one size fits all" with contacts. Poor fitting contacts can cause discomfort, eye infections, and worse. So it's definitely worth it to go see an eye doctor and be fitted for contacts. The eye doctor will let you try out all the colors you think you might like, and you will be sent home with at least one trial pair to wear for 2 weeks, and your prescription. You can order your contacts anywhere online or at an eye doctor's office; that's up to you. I prefer to order online, because they are much cheaper that way. I use 1800contacts.com; they have great prices, fast shipping, and excellent customer service.

ya u can get them. they just don't add a perscription to them. you can just walk into a optical place where they sell eyeglasses and ask for them. thats it!

yup! They have tons of colors. Acuvue and Freshlooks are the main two. Depending on your eye color, you may want to try different types. If you have lighter eyes, you can use an enhancer and if yours are darker, they will give you ones that help blend the color. Be sure to try different ones on (they have samples that say "demo" on them) because you never know how they will look on your eye. Look at them in good lighting. Be aware, they aren't super cheap. They come prescription free with 6 in a box. They should last a month each. You will need to have an appointment if you've never worn contact before or either of these brands. However, these usually don't last longer than 15 minutes.
