I think i scratched my cornea?!


Question: How can i tell if its scatched? My eyes has been bothering me all day. I got home from school and put some eye drops on. My mom got home and I told her and she said i should take my contacts off. so i did and as soon as they came off my eye hurt like it was hurting all day but like 10 times worse. they i put some eye drops on and it hurt 100 times worse. Did i scatch my cornea?

You need to get medical help. Why are you messing around with your eyesight! My husband had a severely damaged cornea, and his symptoms were quite different. He couldn't open his eyes, for one thing. And another, he needed specialty drops for his condition. The most probable reason your eyes hurt worse when you took your contacts out is because your eyes heal very quickly. I would guess that during the day, the cells on the surface of the cornea attached to the contact lens, and when you took out your lenses, you tore the layer of healing that had been layed down

Probably. Coneal scratches are verrrry painful.

Either skip wearing the contacts for a day or so, or drastically reduce your wearing time.

your better off going to opticians or docs rather relying on the stuff people put on here,it could be an eye sight saver.
