Need to get eye contacts for soccer but I have no money!?!

Question: Well I've joined my schools soccer team this year
(and damn it's expensive to be on a team...need so much shiz)
and my coach told me I need to get contacts or I'll be wearing 'snoggles' or something during games.
i know i'll look like an enormous retard

so does anyone know how much the examination and the contacts would cost me? I have Medicare.

hope it's not too bad D:

I am not sure if medicare covers contact lens fittings or not. The eye exam will likely be covered by your insurance. Most carriers cover at least one exam per year. You may want to have your eye doctor do the fitting for your contacts and then actually purchase them from an internet retailer that may less expensive than your eye doctor.

The doctor is required to provide you with a copy of your prescription. Good Luck

It shouldn't be too expensive with insurance....

Always ask if there is a student discount.

im telling you this from experience, I play rugby and I have contacts, when I play a few times they get knocked out of my eyes! you are better off getting sports goggles for soccer ! there not as expensive as contacts, and they come in diffrent shapes and colors like glasses, but there more durrable so they can handle the knocks and bumps you get from playing soccer!?

I think you meant Medicaid. Too young for Medicare. Medicaid will pay 100% for your eye exam. Unsure what they'll pay for contacts. There are disposable contacts that are very inexpensive that you could purchase. Wearing eye protection is for you health, safety and welfare; don't use waisted energy worrying what people think about u. The pro sports players wear eye protection all the time and they're getting paid. You're having fun. Enjoy being on you team.

Medicaid does NOT pay for contacts.

exam at walmart- around $100, contact prices are dependant on what brand is presdribed.

I think you should get the glasses for your sport. You will lose the contacts, or you will get dirt in your eyes and it will irritate your eyes. See if you can find what you need on this website: http://zennioptical.com/cart/home.php

You can always call the UNITED WAY in your area, and they will refer you for low cost glasses, or contacts.

Here is the goggles page on the zenni optical website:

The eye examination is about $100.
The eye examination is needed to order contacts. You will save the most money by ordering contacts by mail order, typically about 60%. A couple of suggestions about discount plans with mail order contact lenses below.
