My left eye bugs out of my head and hurts?!
Question: not a thyroid problem and a normal mri so no tumor.... the opthamologist says i have astigmatisism in one eye could that cause it? my eye is healthy and normal - it hurts badly and you can actually tell by looking that it is bugging out, my doctor says no big deal? please help!!!!

could be an inflammation of the orbit (the bone around your eyes) or the rectus muscles (the muscles around your eye). i too suggest you get a second, third, opinion. and make sure they explain your problem!i have never,ever heard of astigmatism causing this. even when i try to make sense out of this, it doesn't!

Sounds like you don't have enough faith in your doctor. My advise would be get a second opinion.
I would go to another doctor to make sure your first is right that sounds unhealthy.
