Any opticians or color contacts users here? ... I need suggestions..?!

Question: I have dark brown - close to black eyes.

go to this page and look at the brown and turqouise eyes: http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=h...

my question is: since my eyes are really dark to begin with, will wearing either of the two (brown/turqouise) make my eyes too light or as dark as they're showin the picture? Will the new color blend with my original eye color and since my originals dark to begin with will the contacts still be dark?

i'm looking for brown contacts that are not light .. i want something dark yet noticable like that picture up there ^ .. any suggestions for brands?

Freshlook is a great brand of colored contacts- they offer so many choices. Go to your local optometrist and they will order you samples of any of the colors that you like so you can try them out. Its really hard to say what it will look like on your eye as every person i have ever seen them on they always look different. I have the Carribean Aqua for my self and love the color, its not green and its not blue, its great! When i wear them all of my patients compliment me on how beautiful my eyes are...little do they know they are contacts :-P

I agree with Aimee. The colored contacts look different on everyone; I don't think any two people would get the same result with the same colored contacts. Also, they will look vastly different on you compared to what they look like on the computer, even if you use the thing on the Freshlook or Acuvue site where you can upload a pic of yourself and try out different colors.

Your best bet would be to go to your eye doctor and ask to try out some samples of colored contacts. You will have to have an eye exam and contact fitting though. You can try out as many colors as you want, and it'll help you get a good idea of what colors do and don't work for you. You may or may not be able to wear the Freshlook colored contacts...they are only offered in the size 8.6/14.5, so if your pupils are smaller than that, you will need another brand, such as Acuvue that's available in a smaller pupil size.
