Did I buy the wrong reading glasses?!

Question: I bought a pair of reading glasses just for reading really small print such as nutritional info or cooking instructions.
They are x2 strengthwise.
They are OK when Im wearing them but when I take them off it takes about 5 seconds for my eyes to come into focus. Is this normal?

They are maybe stronger than you need.

Could also be that you have a slight amount of astigmatism , or also that your eyes aren't the same in both...so when you have them on, one is too strong, and one is too weak.

It won't do any damage to wear them anyway for very short periods, but you should get an exam to find out what you really need so when you want to read for any amount of time, you will be much more comfortable.

I think the best thing you can do is get an eye test. Then you will know if you are wearing the right strength for you.

IT seems you have got a higher power than required. The vision may seem to be better or magnified than usual however this may cause frequent headaches and irritation as it occurs to you right now.
I suggest you to have your eyes rechecked and have the glasses with proper prescription Eye power.

Status Eye Care.

You may have some hyperopia, and the reading glasses let your eyes relax. You should get an eye exam; even if you don't need glasses, the eye doctor will check for diseases like glaucoma which can lead to blindness.
