Optic nerve inflammation. Spinal cord problems. Brain problems. Blood circulation problems. Central serous retinopathy. Macular degeneration. Retinal infection. Vitreous inflammation. Retinal vein blockage.

Many, many conditions meet the vague description of "something swelling". Some are serious, some are not. He should keep the appointment.

eyes are generally not my forte but I do know that infections can cause the eyes to swell drain etc the reason that he was referred as an emergency , is because the eyes can be damaged irreversibly very easy. I feel that they will probably place him on iv antibiotics and maybe some eye drops and this should help Take care and hope he feels better soon

I had an eye exam as was having dizziness and loss of balance they were looking for signs of a brain tumour, but that is the worst case scenario. So dont worry it may just be an infection.

Dont want 2 frighten u & ur partner but it could b a tumour.
Dont miss the appointment.
