Where should I buy my eyeglasses?!

Question: Where can I buy glasses that are stylish and reasonably priced?

Answers: Where can I buy glasses that are stylish and reasonably priced?

My friend got some really cute stylish and reasonably priced glasses at WalMart. The girl that worked there worked hard to help find the right pair.

You may laugh, but this is 100% true.

I buy them at the 99 cent store for exactly that - 99 cents. Now, they're not prescription and they're not too bad looking - all I can afford right now and they work great.

I have more than one pair that I use, depending if it's for reading, semi-close or distance. They come in differnent strengths, such as 1, 2, 2.5, ect. You can test them from the display in the store.

These normally sell for about $20 in drug stores, ect. - this is really a great deal where I go.

flea market

Specsavers is a good place to start.

where your insurance company will pay for it

If you have a USA Optical around you they are great for eye glasses. That is where I get mine.

Not lens crafters- I just spent $800 for a pair of glasses there. The eye exam was a $15 co-pay and the ins picked up 500 but wow! $800 for a pair of glasses?!?

Japan
There's several chains that sell complete glasses priced under $100 with a wild selection of frame styles. Even at the Narita airport, you can have an eye test and have the glasses made in under half an hour.

It seems like in North America, the places with reasonable prices have boring or crappy frames. Shop around; sometimes you'll catch a store with a grand opening or anniversary sale and real discounts on cool frames and lenses. Also, check out the "mom and pop" independent stores; some of them carry more interesting lines of frames than the big mall chains.
