Where can I buy cheap eyeglasses?!

Question: And how much would they cost?
I need one lens +4.0 and another +4.5. I have prescription and everything, but I'm a student and can't afford designer glasses. So basically all I'm looking for is OK looking regular frames, nothing special. I'm 21 by the way.

Can I get them at CVS? I know they have reading glasses on display. Can I just pick any frames and ask them to put in lenses that i need? And again, how much would it cost?

"America's Best" claims to have name brand frames with lenses starting at $50.

Some independent opticians may be willing to give you a very good deal on discontinued frames if you ask nicely.

Walmart will make new lenses for frames you supply for about $60. Maybe you have some old glasses, or can get some at a thrift store, or from a friend or family member.

Edit: I know you mentioned that you wanted to try on the glasses and that was the reason you did not want to order them online. In your case, I would go to a store that sells reading or sun glasses and pick out frame(s) that you like and get the approxiamate measurements and style and use it to order glasses from an online retailer. You may want to order a few inexpensive pairs and you will probably find at least one that you like. You can order three pairs of glasses for about $30.00. I know it is nice to be able to try them on, but it is not always cost effective. I actually used a pair of sunglasses I really liked as reference for ordering my last pair of glasses online and was completely satisfied with my purchase. It is all up to you and this is just a suggestion.

Zenni Optical is the cheapest place I know to purchase eyeglasses. Glasses start at $8.00

I have no idea what services CVS offers, but I know you have a different prescription in each eye for moderate farsightedness and you can only purchase over the counter reading glasses with the same power in each eye.

I would try walmart. They have an optical center there.

The other suggestion is. Charge it on your credit card. That way you can make payments anyways.

CVS only carries non prescription reading glasses. Go to an optical and ask them to show you their least expensive frames. Most places have a low end frame or budget line. Also ask if there are any discontinued frames on hand. Sometimes they will be reduced in cost ,but likely won't have a warranty. There are many inexpensive frames that copy the more popular styles for less.

walmart?
