Can you use old lenses from an old glasses frame onto a new frame?!

Question: I recently broke my glasses frame, and I am looking to replace it. But I asked some stores if I can just replace the frame without changing the lenses, one store told me that they can't do that because it will change the prescription, another store told me it's okay if the lenses fit into the new frame. I don't know who is right? Anyone knows?

You probably could use the old lenses in a new frame provided the frame wasn't that different, such as old lenses but bigger frames so they won't fit. Also, the centering of the lenses must be taken into account with the new frame. The frame only holds the lenses and the lens is mounted in such a way that the centering is exact to your iris. If they can't get that exact measurement, then you can't use the lens in that frame as you will be looking off centre through the lens. Its much easier for you to get another eye checkup, new lens and frame as the period when you last had the glasses made, your eye sight could have worsened and your script gone up.

Most people's prescription changes a lot from year to year. If your exam was less than a year ago, take the leses back to where you got them, and you should get the frame replaced for FREE or greatly reduced..
If it is older, you might as well get a new exam & new glasses.

yes you can only if they fit the new frame.

I recut old lenses into new frames 5 or 6 times every week...if they are done right, there is never any problems.

the first stores man wants to make money little extra while the second store man is correct in his stat ment and you can fix the glass in the new frame, only thing that your seclusion of frame must be guided by the stores man to say the fr ame is suitable .the other possibility is that the desided fram happened to be smaller the present glass may have to be grainded again to suit the fram. A larger fram to a smaller glass--nothing much can be done.
