Is there a reason why lazy eye occurs......?!
Question: my 7 year old niece was a normal little girl until all of a sudden, she started getting headaches and complained of not seeing good. her eyes were normal but now their kinda crooked. could this be a kind of cancer?

see a doc. sudden onset of something like that isn't good. I highly doubt its cancer but it could be another vision condition. you never know plus if here eye's are lazy she can get glasses, or they might have corrective surgery, or they might patch her good eye and teach her to use her bad one or something. if she's getting headaches then see probably needs glasses anyway. I strongly recommend it. better safe then sorry. eye's are not something to mess with there to fragile and a huge handicape when hindered. did you know that 80 percent of the infromation are brain processes comes from vision alone. anyway I'm rambling. i suppose it could be cancer, but i highly, highly doubt it.
just a corrective surgery and she'll be fine.
There's always a reason, but cancer is way, way, down the list of likely causes.
A good examination with cycloplegic drops is required.
95% plus of cases will be previously unapparent refractive error, usually longsight, which has always been there but didn't show until the demands of reading and closework really started to increase at school.
It doesn't need to be any worse than that, but the outside possibility of more serious problems will be assessed at the same time.
