Help....eye appears to be bleeding!?!

Question: My eye is "bloody". It looks bloodshot, but its more...bloody. Its been going like this off and on for about a week or so. We got alot of animals....could it be a hair in my eye? i dont know that allergies would cause this sort of thing. Its my left eye, and only my left eye as of now. It itches like mad. It far to red to be pink eye i think. Could anyone tell me what this might be? Thanks!

it sounds like you may have a subconjunctival hemmorage - which is a very long word for a bruise on your eye - they look a lot worse than they are - don't worry - you said you have a lot of animals - have you been rubbing your eyes a lot lately? that can do it, so can coughing, vomiting, sneezing, or lifting heavy objects- it could also indicate uncontrolled blood pressure- keep an "eye" on it- these tend to look worse before they get better (just like a bruise- they get really ugly) as long as you're not in any pain, have light sensitivity or blurry vision just watch it - if it doesn't improve within the next 2-3 days go see your eye doc.

I think you should see an eye doctor pronto.

Visit your eye doctor, or sumthin. Have any kids? They might know the way to poke your eye.

Allergies can cause that reaction but your best bet, because it has been going on for some time it would be best to seek medical attention. Conjunctivitis (pink eye) is very easily transmitted and nobody will thank you if they pick it up from you!

If your eye itches, you've probably been rubbing it which can cause small blood vessels to rupture and cause redness. You might have an allergy to one or more of the animals, or you may have gotten something in the left eye.

Pinkeye, also called conjunctivitis, is an inflammation of the inner lining of the eyelid and can cause the sclera (whites) of the eyes to appear very red. Bacterial conjunctivitis will cause itching, pain, swelling of the lids, and a thick, infectious discharge from the eyes. It must be treated with antibiotics.

Allergic conjunctivitis causes intense itching. The key is to find the cause of the allergy and eliminate or avoid it. You can try over the counter eyedrops for allergies, take Benadryl or another antihistamine, or try flooding the eye with saline solution for the eyes, in case something got stuck in there. You can also use a cool, wet cloth over the eye, which might help with the itching.

What's mostly important is to STOP rubbing and get to an eye doctor as soon as possible. You can injure your eye further if there is something imbedded there and you don't have it treated.

You could have an animal hair in your eye and it can cause an eye infection. I would go to the doctor asap

OMG. I would first go see an eye doctor and then I would see what he says. If you are still not sure then go to some place like web md and do some research. it could be an allergy to the animal you got most recently.
