Answers: when someone gets contacts do they usually get a pair of glasses too? why or why not?

Better to get a pair of plain glasses too. This is to avoid contact with atmospheric pollution, dust, infection etc.,. It may be better if they are cooling (heat protected) "Ray ban" type of glasses also to protect from excess sunlight and heat.

I'm sure some people do some don't.
It's good to have both, if you get tired of wearing your contacts, or if something happens to them you still have your glasses to wear until you get new contacts.

You can get glasses anbut you have to buy them

but you can deff get glasses if you want but they dont come free

i use my glasses at night and on weekends cuase contacts dry you eyes out after a long day and it's good to rest them

We always recommend that you get at least a cheap pair of backup glasses cause you never know when your gonna wake up and your eyes may be bothering you or if you get an eye infection. If you do get an eye infection and continue to put in your contacts you can develop a serious corneal abrasion and it may affect you from being able to ever wear contacts again.

You can get both. It is not cheap. My insurance like most pays for the first 200.00 and you pay the rest. For glasses they charge you fitting fees, lenses, frames and scratch proof if you want it. This usually cost about 350.00. For contacts they charge just for the contacts which are about 25.00 a box that last 1 1/2 months. This is all on top of paying for the eye exam itself which can get very exspensive. The prescription for glasses is good for 2 years and for contacts it is only a year. The great thing about having both is that if you are just laying around the house you can just through on the glasses and you can always have your contacts when you go out. You can develope eye infections and if you do then you have to wear glasses untill it passes. Contacts can get uncomfortable at times so I recommend both.

you should get both. that way if your contacts are bothersome you can just take them out and wear your glasses. or, you could have a lazy day every so often and just not feel like putting in contacts. and- in the middle of the night- say something was going on, an emergency... i doubt you'll be fiddling with contacts in the mirror!

Most people who get contacts get glasses as well. This is for many reasons. Many get glasses for when they don't feel like wearing contacts but still want to have the ability to see and others get them just because they look cute and want to mix it up a bit. It's all a personal preferance but it's a good idea to get glasses as well as contacts just in case.
