I'm thinking about having laser eye surgery done...any advice?!

Question: I had an initial consult done, and they told me I can restore my vision to 20/20 i'm a little scared..wondering if anyone has some first hand experience, becase I don't know anyone who has had it done..does it work? How long did it take for you to see results..is it really instant?...thanks for any advice.

OK I got it done like 8 months ago and IT IS THE BEST THING I EVER DID. After me my neighbor did it, my cousin and now my two friends have appointments.

I wish I would have done it sooner.

It worked immediatly. They will give you some Xanax to calm you down (which it did) and its quick. They put things over your eyes and some goggles so it protects your eyes for the next day. So you don't rub them and scratch your cornea. It does burn like u had shampoo in your eye for an hour. BUT take a few advil and it took it down!

IMPORTANT: You need to keep your eyes closed the rest of the day. I beleive they will give you another Xanax and it will help you sleep. I had it done at 10 am and I slept all day. Woke up at 12 am and felt fine. My cousin kept opening his eyes after the surgery and it got infected. Beleive me if you take the Xanax you will sleep.

Your eyes are dry realy bad for a few days. Gotta put drops (special ones that they give you) for a few days. As the days pass you use less and less drops.

4 weeks after the surgery I felt like I never had the surgery. I even went on a 10 day cruise and swam and snorkled.

GOOD LUCK!

Im thinking of it too...glasses suck :(

do it! it is scary most places will let you observe someone elses procedure to ease your mind.

i had it done 5 years ago and every day since has been a miracle.... or at least easy on my eyes
go for it!

My wife had it done 2 years ago, and hasn't regretted a moment of it afterword. It wasn't instant, but very nearly. The change only took a day. There was some tenderness, but nothing unbearable. She doesn't need glasses now and can see clearly from the moment she wakes up in the morning. She's very happy she did it, and I imagine you will feel the same... be brave and good luck.

i had it done about two years ago when i was 18 and it DOES work and i had results in a couple hours, your eyes are very sensitive the first day but they give you eyedrops for it.
one suggestion::i would wait until your vision stays stable ( as in it doesnt change anymore when you go to do your eye doctor check ups) i did mines too early and now i have to go back and get it redone because i'm starting to see blurry again.
Check with your eye doctor!!
