Definitely do not use that one lens if you do find it. It has more than likely dried out too badly by now, so it wouldn't return to its normal size even if you did put it in solution at this point. It could also tear or crack, and you don't want to use a torn contact on your eye ever.

Your eye doctor should be able to give you a trial lens to replace that one, so that you can wear it along with the one you still have, and have time to order another box of contacts from them or online. Most eye doctors are kind enough to do this; just call and ask them. If you want another box while you are there, just give them your scrip...maybe if you're lucky they will have it in stock.

I have heard of people doing that but I would not suggest it. The reason being is because it has dried and probably cracked, so even if it softens up after putting it in a cleaning solution it probably still has tears and that would scratch your eye. Call the eye doctor and tell them what happened. Most eye doctors have trial pairs and they will give you one to use for you eye exam.

You can't just buy one contact, they only sell them by boxes. I would just go back to the doctor and explain what happened. I'm sure they can give you another trial lens for your appointment. We do at our office.

You should go to the place where you have your exam, explain the situation, and ask for one trial lens. If you have your prescription, or if they were the ones who wrote it, they should give you one without any problems.

Most doctors require that you keep your contacts out for 24 hours before an exam anyway. They shouldn't be refracting you over contacts. So when you go, you can order new ones to the new prescription, if it changed. Check with the office before you go to make sure they do or don't want you to have them out, this way you won't waste your time going in only to reschedule.
