Alternative to eye drops???!

Question: I went to the pharmacy/chemist because my eyes tend to get watery when there's wind or if in a highly air-conditioned room.. so she said I have dry eyes and gave me eye drops to moisturise my eyes. The only thing is I've been doing it for 2days now and it's terrifying for me lol - having somebody hanging over a bottle into my eye, me waiting for them to position it so it does it hit my eye. It's just like how some people can't swallow pills.. So I was wondering if there is a widely-available alternative for eye moisturiser (i.e. tablet or something..). If anybody can help, it would be appreciated!

Try putting in the drops by dropping them into the corner of the eyes - near the nose- with your head back and your eyes shut. Then, with your head still held back, blink to get them to go into your eyes.

more than the eye drops you need to consult an eye specialist to see the eye drainage system and also conjectival swabs test for culture and sensitive test for the infecting organism and treat ment accordingly, what you have imagined could be different all togather and your expected dry eye not only red eye which could be irritating more also the the lubricating tears is minimal,so you must be examined by your eye doctor.

All treatments for dry eye are eye drops. Do not instill the drop into the corner of your eye because that will cause the drop to drain away. You might want to try a more viscous product like HypoTears or Systane.
Overnight you can use an eye ointment which you place into your eye.

It used to be scary for me too! I also hate swallowing pills :-)

But then I got contacts (this was MANY years ago) and suddenly eye drops weren't so bad.

You just have to keep doing it--do it to yourself so you have control--until you get used to it. Think about it rationally (even though it is hard). NO harm at all can come from eye drops. A person COULD choke from swallowing a pill...but NOTHING bad CAN happen by a drop or two of soothing liquid making your eyer feel better!

Try turning off the overhead light. Sometimes having to keep your eye open and your head tilted back while there is a bright light on the ceiling SHINING into your eyes can be annoying. So turn off the overhead light in the room and practice putting drops in your eyes.
