Some people don't like polarized lenses for skiing. They feel that they make it more difficult to see ice/icy snow. I wore them for several snowboard seasons and preferred them - didn't notice any problems.
Something different, not really a problem -- you may notice patterns in other cars' windshields and windows. This doesn't happen with your own windshield.
They are generally much more comfortable for driving.
I would not wear regular sunglasses.
there great for fishing, you can see the fish through the water,i always looked for polarized fishing glasses
There aren't any bad things to say about polarized lenses. They are better than regular sunglasses for the amount of glare they reduce. It will reduce the brightness off the snow and give you more comfortable vision for skiing. Try a brown polarized lens for skiing and then you'll also be able to use it for driving and other recreation. Whether they are prescription or not, get polycarbonate lenses. It will offer you the best impact resistance for eye safety.
