Sometimes I don't feel comfortable with my glasses. Should I switch to conta!

Question: My prescription is very strong, -10 on both eyes. Although i wear high-index glasses, it still looks a bit thick especially when i look down. I feel like it makes me look like a nerd. I got the metal-frame one because the salesman recommended it .I felt like plastic, colored frames look better, but he said they look weird on Asians. So i didn't get them. I just wonder if i should get contacts.

If helping you feel more comfortable is as simple as getting fitted for contacts - then yes! Absolutely, go for it. :-)

When you feel comfortable the real you gets to shine in all you do.

I like to have the option to wear either contacts or glasses. Some days your eyes just need a rest and it's good to have the glasses handy for that.

I'd also do a bit of research on what kinds of contacts are available for your prescription. There are several different types of contact lenses available on the market and you want something that's going to be functional for you and also as comfortable as you can get!

I wear Acuvue Oasys with Hydraclear Plus (the most comfy ones I've ever worn in over 10 years). I'm not sure if they come in your strength but you can certainly find out from your eye doctor.

Contacts creep me out! And plastic frames are great! If you find a good shape it will be OK. Glasses do not make you look nerdy. i know people who wear glasses with fake lenses as an accessory. Metal frames bend and break too easily for me. Just find something that works.

I usually switch between glasses and contacts. Some days I just don't feel like wearing my glasses and I am glad that I have contacts to wear. It is also nice to be able to have everything in my field of vision clear, not just the small section that I look through my lenses with.

Plastic frames are usually very hard to fit on asian people, because most have a very flat bridge of the nose, so there is no way to keep the frame from sliding down all the time. That's why metal frames with nosepads have to be used .

Contacts may just be the perfect thing for you...Go for it !

You will never know until you try. If they work for you, you will certainly love the freedom from glasses.

your are a high myop, it ia the fitting condition for contacts and this device is a costly one the extended wearing variates more costly and daily disposable is ext rem Ly costly.further, present days small frame for thick lens are available by which the appearance could be made plea sent.

I would recommend contacts if you feel uncomfortable. We always put our high index patients in a plastic frame( they just look better on a high minus like yourself). Never get a rimless they will look twice as thick. If you get contacts you may be put in RGP(rigid gas permeable) lenses and they are hard contacts but give better vision for some prescriptions. I don't feel plastic colored frames look weird on Asians, we have Asian patients and black plastic frames look good on almost anyone. I kinda think that was not very professional to tell you thet (or either they were just trying to sell).
