Spectacle frames, why so expensive?!

The best thing to do is to go into a store and look around. When you find a pair you like, note the Brand and model number, then look for them on eBay. Use the serch word "eyeglasses" rather "glasses". I have bought about 16 frames off ebay, some as cheap as $1.00. Then take them in as normal for the lens to be fitted. You will save a fortune.
go by the style that suits you rather than the brand. i got really lucky this month at sears. got new frames & no line bifocals for the usual price of a frame.
Shop around,,,they are all competing,,,for your custom,,,don't be afraid to ask about offers,,,,,
There are definate differences in the quality of the materials used in different frames.
Plastic frames that will retain their colors and ajustment better, and last years longer, or in the metal frames, better spring hinges, colors that won't chip off, frames that won't turn green within 6 months...there are LOT'S of differences in the quality of different frames...that will affect the durability and how well they will stay adjusted on you .
The designer frames are always more because licencing fees have to be paid to the designer firm for every frame made.
