How long should I wait to wear contacts with pink eye?!

Question: Yesterday night (Tuesday) my eyes were itchy and red, so I started to use drops. I threw out my contact lenses. Today (Wednesday) I stayed home from school, did not wear my contacts at all, and I have been using drops all day. Already my eyes look much whiter, I can see less veins, and it generally looks less completely disgusting.

When can I wear contacts again? Would tomorrow (Thursday) be alright?

All answers are appreciated.

You can start wearing them three days after your last symptom has gone. You should be fine tho if you thoroughly clean your contacts after you wear them.

I have pink eye, too! I have it both eyes, actually, and since Sunday morning. I'd not wear contacts just yet because you'd be touching your eyes and it will just re-irritate them. Trying wearing glasses, if you have any.

oh dear
stay away for a while
maybe a week
atleast, that's how long i waited
i dont think there is much of a difference
between hard or soft lenses
when i had pink eye
it sucked balls
make sure you was all your sheets

I would wait at least 5-7days after your eyes are clear and no longer painful. But are you sure that its pinkeye? If you haven't been to an eye dr. your guess may not be right. Other eye irritations/infections can have the same type symptoms as pinkeye, and may not be properly treated by whatever drops you are using. PLEASE go see your eye dr. I have a condition called chronic recurrent eyeritis, and the symptoms are very similar to pinkeye, and if its not treated properly can lead to blindness. Don't let your desire to wear your contacts do permanent damage to your eyes.
