Was I ripped off for contact fitting?!

Question: Contact fittings are ususally around 100 dollars.

And I heard that they come with a 2 box ( 6pairs)
A checkup with a trail lense and another checkup later.

All I got was a trial pair and one checkup, was I ripped off?

I paid 100 dollars for this?

I do not know where you heard this but I have been wearing contacts for 26 years and have never heard of an offer like this. That would be a great offer!

Usually a contact fitting visit includes the fitting, a trial pair of lenses, and a follow up to make sure your lenses are working out fine. At least, most private eye doctors do this. Large retailers that have vision care places in them may be a bit different. I would call them and ask about the follow up. Free boxes of lenses are not included. Those you have to pay for separately.

Hope it all works out for you!

No Everyone's eye size varies...if they don't measure your eye then your contact won't fit.

At our office you pay for the fitting, which is around $79. The fitting pays for all of your check ups, that are related to your contacts, and all of your solutions for the year. Then you have to pay for the contacts. The fitting comes with 1 pair of contacts so that you can practice on the Insertion and Removal but it does not come with boxes. That is just how our office works. I don't know about others.

obviously, you heard wrong. discuss the specifics BEFORE you next sale -no matter what you buy.

That really sounds pretty good to me. Here are the fees you would find at my office. A thorough exam including a dilated internal eye health exam is $87. This gives us the information we need to assure that your eyes are healthy and that we have an accurate prescription that can be placed in a pair of eyeglasses. If you want to be fit with contact lenses, this takes more of my time (in the initial exam and the follow up exam) and expertise. More time and expertise converts into a higher fee. The additional fee I charge for my extra time and expertise in order to fit your contact lenses has a fitting fee of $25. Now, once I have arrived at an appropriate fit it is necessary to instruct you on how to care for the lenses and how to properly insert and remove the lenses. I have a highly qualified contact lens assistant who will spend as long as it takes to help you learn what is necessary to be a succesful lens wearer. This takes more time and expertise on her part for which we have a fee of $20. SO, to exam your eyes, fit the contact lenses, provide a follow up exam, and teach you how to care for and handle your contacts, our fee would be $132. You got an awesome deal.

No that sounds about right but if you do find a place that give you 2 free boxes let me know =). I've been wearing contacts for 10 years and usually pay between $75-$90 for the fitting & they give me a free trial to see if they work good for me. Then I pretty much have to pay for my contacts seperatly. I wear the night & days so 2 boxes = 6 months @ $69.99 per box.
