Red Eye problem.........?!

Question: So, over Spring break (three-four weeks ago) I noticed that my eyes would get red. I thought my contacts were bad so I threw them out and got a new pair. Now, they are still red (and sometimes itchy), they're especially really red from under my contacts. Do you know what it is and what I should do?
(I dont think it's allergies since Spring hasn't really come yet--still snowing)
