How do blind people tell the difference between 1's, 5's,10's, twent!

Question: in the US, all of our bills are the same size...most blind people put them in different locations in their wallets/purses

my grandfather was legally blind (he couldn't see straight ahead, but had so so side vision)

he would only carry 10's and 20's and would fold the 10's in 1/2 and put them in one part of his wallet, the 20's he would leave alone and put them in another part of his wallet
when we would spend the money, and get change, he would just put it all in his pocket until he could sit with someone and "fix" the bills the way he needed them

good one....mabey they can feel them or something, or someone tells them

They can have them folded a certain way by someone they trust.

I would guess by the order they're put in the wallet.
In the first pocket, you put ones in front, and fives in back. In the second pocket, tens in front, and twentys in back.

Good question, tho.

Hmm....good question.

well here in canada there is braille on money so blind people can tell them apart.

It's not really braille on Canadian money, but the big numbers are in raised lettering, so they can be felt.

You can trace the 5, 10, 20, 50 , 100 with your fingertips and actually feel it.

The 1's and 2's are coins, but the 1$ coin is not round like the 2$...it is octagonal....so the difference can be felt right away also.

Here in Canada, the bills are different colours (most blind people have some sight and can see colour) and have raised braille numbers.

Don't know about US bills.
