I put Visine in my eyes and they hurt??!

Question: for like 30 seconds.the pains not 'stinging' hurt, but like 'someones stabbing your eyes' hurt. i have used visine plenty of times before, and it never used to hurt that bad. i wear contact lenses, and sometimes when i wear the lenses, my eyes go red because they're dry and i take them out. then i put in the visine.i use the redness relief one. when my eyes are red, they itch too, even after i put the Visine in.
should i be worried?

Dont use visine plenty of times everyday... use 2drops each eye and at least 3 tyms a day or when it is needed... maybe it huts because ur eyes are tired...Or you could sleep after you put the visine last is you could buy a diff one.

Try another brand of eye drops. ANd I don't know if it really makes a difference, but there are specific eyedrops for when you have contacts in.

Check the expiration date on the Visine. If it is expired that could cause your eyes to hurt. Happened to me once. Huuuurt bad. Try getting the special drops for contacts. :) That should help

i don't know if this will help, but my eye doctor told me to avoid visine, because it works bye constricting the eye (squeezing it) to make the blood vessels smaller, which eliminates the red in the eye

Sure you haven't got conjunctivitis?

i think u shd stop using visine. It might no longer be suitable for ur eyes. Ask an eye doc for help...

This was happening to me. It would burn, kind of like soap in my eyes. I switched to eye drops from the health food store.
