Lazy eye? One eye is suddenly higher than the other?!

Question: Just yesterday I was cleaning my bathroom and glanced in the mirror to notice there was something strange about my eyes. Didn't have time to really look much, so I went on with my day. Later that night when I went to brush my teeth I noticed that one eye was higher than the other. This wasn't like this in the days prior.

I woke up the next morning under the covers and I could instantly tell which eye was the higher one due to some discomfort (not pain or anything, it just felt funny). So I rolled out of bed and looked into the mirror, and my guess was right, it was the eye that was higher.

My vision is fine. One eye has always been weaker than the other (the eye that is elevated higher actually sees better), but nothing was ever done about it because when both eyes work together I can see fine and there werent any cosmetic issues.

I am just about to turn 20, so I don't understand why all of a sudden a cosmetic issue could come up regarding this? What could it be? Can it be corrected

Look at old pics of yourself. Are you sure this is a new issue?

None of us are the exactly equally balanced--I know from working with faces/eyes for several years.
It is easy to notice it a lot more when you first become aware of it.

Just please notice that other people are not balanced, either. Eyebrows are rarely a perfect balance. Lids are different and ears (though you won't notice is on most people) are almost never in exactly the same place on both sides.

I've been adjusting glasses for many years and your picture doesn't look any different from average.

start to strengthen the eye by causing yourself to see double , or go cross eyed on a item in front of your nose.. when you see double of that item you eyes are in sync

same thing happened to my cousin...you need glasses if u have a lazy eye. i hope i helped!

i have lazy eye to my chriopracter helps me he rubs a certain spot on my head and they stay normal for a while

Hmm.

You should see an ophthamologist (eye doctor) not an optometrist.

If your vision is fine, then nothing to worry about.

But there could be a problem with one of the muscles that controls your eyeball movement. Or there could be something behind the eye that is pushing up on the eyeball.

Make an appointment with an eye doctor and get this checked out.

Yes it is certainly a lazy eye. Some doctors give you prescripted eye glasses and cover up the eye that is just fine. And you will soon learn to think that you cant even feel the eye. Dont be ashamed just do what is right and it could not be a prob maybe you made a mistake and put makeup in your eye. Go to the doctor.
