Why are some people not able to see movies that have bright flashes on the scree!
Question: Some people with epilepsy cannot watch movies or play video games with bright, flashing lights because the flashes can stimulate their brain to start a seizure. The lights usually have to be flashing at a certain number of flashes per second to cause the seizure, so most flashing lights are okay. There was a big problem with the video game Pokemon a few years ago; the bright lights on the game appeared at just the right number of flashes per second to send a lot of epileptic players into seizures.

some epileptics cant watch movies or play video games or be in a room with strobe lights (like a dance or something) because the flashing lights confuse the signals in their brains and could cause a seizure.
Even if you watch TV and play video games all the time, you could still have a seizure because of the flashing lights. It's pretty rare, but it still happens to people that have never been diagnosed with epilepsy.
