How long does it take to get used to new glasses?!

Question: I got new glasses at the beginning of the month, and I'm now wearing them all day, most days.

However, as soon as the sun starts to go down, I begin getting headaches and eyestrain, to the point of feeling dizzy and nauseous, and I have to switch back to my old glasses for the evening.

It's ages since I had the prescription changed, and I can't remember if this is normal or not.

How long until I can wear the new glasses day and night?

I used to have this problem. I have a very, very high Rx, and it seemed like it took me a couple months to get fully used to my new glasses. Now, i get headaches if i take them off.

For me, it actually took a day or two to get used to the new glasses.

Try wearing them at night through the headaches and eyestrain and maybe it will get better eventually. If the pain gets out of hand, see an optometrist.

I don't think you should still be having trouble at this late stage of the game. It seems you've certainly given the glasses a fair shake, however they're wrong somehow. If it had been sometime since your eyes were examined and you had a large change in Rx due to delayed exams this could be the culprit. Another issue that would need to be approached for a more educated answer would be if you're diabetic. Sugar level changes can cause erroneous numbers to occur. In other words any number of things could be the problem, but I think the adjustment period has passed.
