Is it ok to wear contact lenses to the beach?!

Question: What about swimming in a pool? What would the water do to my eyes or the contacts?

Answers: What about swimming in a pool? What would the water do to my eyes or the contacts?

When wearing contacts to the beach I always wear sunglasses, simply so I dont get sand in my eyes, I wear my contacts in the water at the beach, and the pool, but I dont open my eyes under water, because contact lenses will wash out of your eye with the water, so if you want to swim and open your eyes under water, wear goggles so they dont wash out. If you dont mind not getting your face wet, or dont mind closing your eyes underwater, wearing contacts whilst swimming is absolutly fine.
There are many myths about contacts and showers etc..They're not true. So dont listen.
I have worn contacts for 8 years and have ALWAYS swam/beached in them with no worries.
If you're concerned about losing them, take them out before swimming, but its not necessary :)

do what u want....

No it's bad cause the intensity of the sun at the beach is more stronger and it can damage your eyes more when you're wearing contacts.

The only eyewear I guess it's safe to wear when you're on the beach is sunglasses.

lol. do not do it, you will go to hell

ok at the beach. ok in a swimming pool but if you plan to go under, wear goggles.i have opened my eyes underwater and they didnt get ruined, but they could get lost.

I'm not sure about the beach, but I always wear my contacts to the pool. It helps you see under water. Escpecially if you're wearing goggles. Again, I'm not sure about the beach.

IN water like a pool is kind of like

A woman wearing a dress in a wind storm walking around outside.

Get my idea it will get blown off where it is suppose to be

Don't wear them to the beach or the pool. You don't want sand, salt, or chlorine in your eye. You will slit your cornea and you could go blind. Talk to your eye doctor. Just be careful. Don't wear them in the shower either. Trust me. Personal experience.

Its fine, but you could get sand in your eye which is unpleasant when you are wearing contacts. I take mine off...especially if you are someone who has to get in the water! Contacts should not be worn in water at all! Just think about it, if they wash away, then you can not see any how. The beach is going to be pleasant regardless. Just leave the contacts in the car, and put them back on later.

in the pool they can come off and why would you need them? unless you open your eyes underwater and that is really dumb. And about the beach I wouldn't it's usually breezy at the beach and that would make your eyes dry out

Contacts want to "stick" to the wettest surface. If you open your eyes in a body of water, the contacts will want to go there. Swimming with contacts is fine;however, you must realise the chance that the lens will float off. Wear disposable contacts, and if you lose one, another is readily available.

No problem at all. after the swim then throw the lenses away then it will be fine
