What is a Sty??!
Question: I remember gettin this bump on my lower eye lid and it hurting really bad...idk if that wuz a sty?? One of my friends had it too..but it wuz b/c of her eye makeup. So, what exactly is a sty... is a bump or a cut in your eye??
I've heard that u can get it if u stare at the moon a lot....that's not true is it??

A stye is like a zit on your eyelid. My sister CONSTANTLY gets them. They are very painful. You need to not share eye makeup, especially if the person has a stye. If you have it now...use a hot washcloth and put warm compress on it. It really is just a zit...but they are really nasty, I had one once. And no staring into a moon is just a myth LOL
A sty is like a pimple on your eye lid. It is HIGHLY contagious and hurts pretty bad. No one really knows what causes it all they know is warm towels seem to help get rid of it. Or if it is on your eyelash line you can pull the eyelash out and get all the pus out of the sty in order for it to go away quicker.

Is it contagious?
The bacteria in a stye could cause a stye or another infection (such as impetigo) if they enter a break in the skin or an eyelid gland.

I always get stys. Dont worry about them! Basically, a sty is something on/ under your eye, which i think is full of puss, and it feels like a sharp bruise. There is cream you can get for them. x
a sty is NOT contagious, but pink eye is! A sty is just a plugged up pore on your lid. You can try using a warm wash cloth/compress and hold it to your closed eye, this should soften the sty and let it open. If you have crusty eyes, or your eyes look very blood shot or pink, go see your doctor right away, it "could" be pink eye which you will need meds for.
